PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new polynucleotide having a function adjusting a mutation rate of a human cell and useful as a marker, etc., of cancer or a disease relating to DNA repair and used for diagnosis of a cancer, etc., coding a polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This human MutY is an isolated new polynucleotide comprising (A) a polynucleotide coding a polypeptide containing amino acid 1-535 expressed by the formula, (B) a polynucleotide complementary to the polynucleotide A, (C) a polynucleotide containing at least 30 of continuous bases of polypeptides of the component A or B, and (D) a polynucleotide having at least 70% of identity. The new polynucleotide has a function adjusting a mutation rate of a human cell and is used for diagnosis of a cancer, etc., as a marker, etc., of a cancer or a disease relating to DNA repair. This polynucleotide is obtained by screening a cDNA library derived from a human cerebellum. |
