PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing a polyolefin resin compsn. which enables a crosslinking reaction to simply proceed to prepare a polyolefin resin compsn. possessing excellent flexural rigidity and other properties by bringing a polyolefin copolymerized with an alkenylsilane into contact with a specified compd. in a hydrocarbon solvent. SOLUTION: Anα-olefin (e.g. ethylene) is copolymerized with an alkenylsilane (e.g. vinylsilane). The copolymer or a mixture of the copolymer with a crystalline polyolefin (e.g. crystalline polyethylene) is then brought into contact with an alkoxy compd. of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal in a hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. toluene) to obtain a polyolefin resin compsn. Specific examples of pref. alkoxy compds. include potassium tert-butoxide, sodium methoxide, and calcium ethoxide. The amt. of the alkoxy compd. used is pref. about 0.0001 to 0.5wt% based on the copolymer of the alkenylsiliane with theα-olefin.
