摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a heat-sensitive image forming material for manufacturing a lithgraphic printing plate of high quality and particularly high printing durability by dispersing hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles in water- insoluble alkaline swelling resin or soluble resin containing phenol hydroxy. SOLUTION: An image forming layer containing hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles dispersed in water-insoluble alkaline soluble or swelling resin having phenol hydroxy as a hydrophilic bonding agent is contained on a hydrophilic surface of a lithographic base of an image forming material. As the hydrophilic bonding agent used preferably in the image forming layer, synthetic novolak resin and snythetic polyvinyl phenol can be used. Also a compound for converting light into heat is contained therein. It is preferable that the compound is contained in the image forming layer, and also the compound can be put into a layer adjoining to the image forming layer and used therein. As for the compound suitable for converting light into heat, an infrared ray absorption compound is preferred.
