PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating erythrocyte into three kinds of blood fractions different in function. SOLUTION: Blood is mixed with an aqueous containing dextran and allowed to stand for 60-75 minutes to separate the blood into three layers. An upper layer, a middle layer and a lower layer containing erythrocyte are collected, respectively and the upper layer is treated with a hypotonic solution for a short time and then with a hypertonic solution to fractionate the erythrocyte in the blood into three kinds of blood fractions. The three fractions are applicable to antimicrobial tests, other clinical examinations, etc. |
