<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new cleaning agent/dispersing agent highly effective for use in spark-igniting fuels. SOLUTION: This additive comprises a Mannich condensation product, which is produced from (i) 1 mole of a hydroxyaromatic compound having an aliphatic hydrocarbyl substituent derived from a polyolefin having a number-average mol.wt. of approximately 500-3000 on the aromatic ring, (ii) 0.8-1.5 moles of an aliphatic polyamine having a certain amino group and only one primary or secondary amino group capable of participating in the Mannich condensation reaction in the molecule and (iii) 0.8-1.3vol.% of an aldehyde. The employment of a carrier fluid, e.g. a poly(oxyalkylene) compound, further improves the effects of the Mannich condensation product at a point minimizing or lowering an adhesion amount to an inlet valve and/or the adhesion to the inlet valve.</p> |
