Operation of room air conditioner

The room air-conditioner has motorised control vanes to open and close the air inlet and outlet. When the conditioner is started, the outlet vanes are moved to a position that facilitates their opening and closing. The mechanisms to open the inlet and outlet vanes are then operated and the vanes brought to a horizontal position. The heat exchanger and the air circulation fans are then brought into operation to deliver hot or cold air into the room. When the conditioner is to be stopped the inlet and outlet vanes are brought to a position where they can be closed by the drive mechanisms. The operation of a drive mechanisms can be delayed so both sets of vanes close simultaneously.
