APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING BLANKS BY ELECTRIC CURRENT PULSES

FIELD: apparatus may be used at plastic working for acting upon deformation zone of blank by electric current pulses. SUBSTANCE: blank is placed in press provided with dynamometer for controlling compression of blank. Press includes upper and lower plates provided with reciprocation motion drive units. Drive unit of upper plate is in the form of screw and nut pair and drive unit of lower plate is in the form of power hydraulic cylinder. Reservoir with transparent lateral walls is mounted on lower plate. Reservoir is filled by cooling agent. In order to create electric current pulses, apparatus is provided with power transformer, current transformer, oscillograph, thyristor type switch and resistance welding regulator. Action upon blank by electric current pulses provides case hardening of blank material and elimination of fatigue cracking. EFFECT: improved design. 1 dwgr
