The invention concerns a plant for the coarse crushing of articles comprising a first shaft (32) for driving the articles and a second shaft (38) for shredding the driven articles. The plant comprises: a first motor (36) coupled with the first shaft and first means (44) for controlling said motor; a second motor (42) separate from the first coupled with the second shaft (38) and second means (46) for controlling said second motor and means for controlling the plant including means (48) for receiving instructions for controlling the plant, sensing means (50, 52) for delivering information representing the effective operating of the plant and means for transmitting to each motor control means command instructions in response to control instructions and to information delivered by said sensors.
