The machine automatically separates single nuts for welding, push-fit nut or flanged components (9), from an agglomerated quantity of such components, and surrenders these singly to a second machine at the same level for subsequent assembly. The separation machine has a feed path (2) with a pneumatic cylinder and component-lifting pins (7.1, 7.2), each of which has pneumatic impulse support. The two pins are swivelled back and forth by a cylinder (1) -driven lever (6). When the piston rod is withdrawn, the row of waiting components are prevented from advancing by the pins-system (7.1). When the piston is extended the component at the centre of the two pins is free to advance to the supply path (2). At the same time, the pair of pins (7.2) arrests the row (9) of waiting components. An impulse of compressed air (15) supports the transfer of the parts (9) from the buffer section to the centre of the pairs of pins (7.1, 7.2).
