<p>A refractory glass fiber having a use temperature of greater than 1000 degree C, up to at least 1260 degree C, having an after service mechanical integrity comparable to conventional refractory ceramic fiber and which is non-durable in physiological fluids, consisting essentially of the product of silica, magnesia and optionally zirconia, is produced from a melt, optionally containing a viscosity modifier.</p> |
