Medical X-ray imaging apparatus especially for digital radiography

The apparatus produces and processes digital signals (5) from a matrix detector (4) of X-rays (2) passing through the patient (3) from a source (1). The signal-processing computer (6) produces image signals (7) substantially in real time (preferably within 5 s) for display on a monitor (8). The processing may follow a detector-specific procedure or it may be based on external processing parameters either stored in the computer or communicated to it from a network (9). The image data instead of being displayed may be printed out, stored or relayed (10) to an external computer or network.
