Continuous strip casting involves producing a strip (1) out of molten metal which is poured into a mould (3) and is extracted from it as a strip with a solidified shell (14) and a molten core (2). The level of the melt in the mould is determined by control of the melt flow into the mould by means of a controller whose control parameters are adapted on-line, with use of fuzzy logic techniques, to changes in the plant to be controlled, i. e. the casting equipment and the mould. Also claimed is an apparatus for implementation of the proposed method.
