Eccentric screw action pump

The pump comprises a screw-shaped rotor (3) which is moulded to the required shape and is subsequently forged to the correct surface finish and dimensions. The drive coupling (11) is attached to one end of the rotor by forging onto a drive stub (9). An alternate design has the drive coupling forged in one piece with the rotor. The rotor is forged from a bar or is cast into the rough shape. The subsequent forging provides the shaping without loss of material and without the need to collect swarf.
