The device includes an inlet rail, a sorting plate with sorting apertures, pressure reels, and coin transport straps. Selected sorting apertures (5) are connected with a magnetic disk (8), whose length is determined by a coin flow speed. The length of the magnetic disk starts at least one coin diameter before the sorting aperture, of coins to be sorted out at this point, and ends at least half a coin diameter behind the sorting aperture. The magnetic disk is preferably formed of individual magnets, especially permanent magnets, whose opposite poles are arranged adjacent to each other, whereby a crack is formed between the magnets, which is filled with non-magnetic material.
