The apparatus includes an antenna especially a rod antenna with a half wavelength length. A rigid, non-radiating telescopic coaxial conductor (2) is arranged between the handset housing and the antenna (7). In the operating state, the feed-in point of the antenna is in a relative far distance from the head of the user. A flexible coaxial conductor (6) is connected to the end of the rigid coaxial conductor furthest from the antenna. The other end of the flexible conductor is connected to an input or output of transceiver units (5) of the hand-set. Preferably, the rod antenna is a monopolar antenna. Alternatively the antenna may be telescopic and mechanically and electrically connected to the rigid coaxial conductor.
