A stocktaking accessory 10 includes weighing means 12 for weighing a partially full receptacle. The accessory 10 further includes processor means responsive to the weighing means 12 and operable to calculate the quantity of a beverage remaining in the receptacle. The accessory 10 further includes a data storage means configured to receive from and store data processed by the processor. The stored data can be printed out or downloaded onto a personal computer to permit data collected during a stock take to be analysed.
