Rotary piston motor with rotor formed as elongated tube

The elongated rotor (1) for the motor is of circular cross-section and is made of longitudinal strips or planks of metal. These are laid on the outer diameter of a tubular inner rotor. The inner rotor may have flattened portions with bushes which may accommodate a seal or vane. There is a small space between the flattened portions on the inner rotor and the inner diameter of the outer rotor. The edges of the planks making up the outer rotor may be of square-toothed or dovetail shape and may interdigitate together.
