The roof opening (2) is closable by a cover (3) adjusted by a guide element (13) driven for sliding movement and engaging with a first lever (5) so that it slides along the first lever and rotates. The guide element can be moved relative to the first lever in an area between the articulation points (14) of the first lever. The guide element can be formed on a slide carriage movable along a guide rail (16) fixed on the roof. The first lever is mounted relative to the normal travel direction in front of the second lever (6). In the closed position of the cover the upper ends of the levers are set in front of the lower lever ends relative to the normal travel direction.
