SELF-ASSEMBLING AMPHIPHILES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PEPTIDE SECONDARY STRUCTURES

A peptide-amphiphile complex having a lipophilic portion and a peptide portion, wherein the peptide portion has a secondary structure. Preferably the peptide-amphiphile complex has structure (I) wherein (a) R<1> and R<2> are each independently C10-C20 hyd rocarbyl groups; (b) m = 0-4 and n = 0-4; and (c) the (peptide) refers to a collagen-like sequence or an alpha-helical forming sequence. The complex is able to form vesicles or micelles which are used for drug targeting pruposes.
