FIELD: measurement technology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tool production and can be used for determination of screw profile shaped part surface at known profile of tool. Method involves use of reference model of tool made identically to processing tool in form of rotation body and measuring tool with probe placed on basis, which is installed on guide to move along it, wherein measuring tool is arranged to move relative to base. Reference model of tool and guide measuring tool are installed in accordance with installation part at its processing, and probe of measuring tool is brought into contact with surface of reference model.EFFECT: desired profile of screw shaped part surface is determined by measuring position of surface of reference model under appropriate movements of measuring tool probe.1 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl
