Mixing device for fuels and air

Fuel may flow through a central pipe to a nozzle (2) and is released into a combustion chamber (3). Air may flow through a pipe (6) which concentrically surrounds the fuel pipe, forming an annular chamber (16), and is supported on it by a spider (13). A cone (22) surrounds the nozzle and there is a double conical plate which leaves a small gap (5) between it and the first plate. Recirculating gases may flow through this gap. There is a further concentric tube forming a second annular chamber (17) and there is a fitting (15) which restricts the flow of air. Air flows forward from the second chamber through a number of circular tubes (19). These tubes feed air into a double conical air distribution and mixing nozzle (8-21).
