The frame has a prop-free mining front and comprises a packing-side shield structure (4) and a front structure displaceable in the mining direction. The front structure comprises at least two part structures (1) each with a front prop (13) and a front securing cap (16) which on alternate sides are displaceably supported on the shield structure. Each front securing cap is provided with an intermediate cap (17) displaceably located in the cap longitudinal direction and linked to a hanging cap (5). Only one part front structure is coupled on the packing side with the front runner (14) via a link connection (23) on the conveyor (21). A front securing cylinder (18) is located in the mining face-side area of a front securing cap and engages with the length-adjustable end of the intermediate cap (17).
