The connection fitting has a cast metal housing with a tubular connection point to which a short outer conductor pipeline section is butt welded. The end of the tubular connection point is provided with an annular weld protection ring (28), with an axial gap (29) between the latter and the weld point. The connection fitting may be provided by an angle piece inserted between the outer conductors of 2 energy transmission pipeline sections extending at 90 degrees to one another.
