Ultrasonic method of flow measurement for fluids

The method employs a measurement tube (1) on which are positioned at least two ultrasonic transducers (4, 5) which beam to and receive from at least one measurement path (3), ultrasonic pulses (2). From the echo time of the pulses the mean flow speed of the medium is determined and from that the flow. From a Doppler shift of the ultrasonic pulses (8) reflected along the measurement path by the inhomogeneities (7) contained in the medium and the echo time of these pulses a flow profile of the medium is determined. From the profile a correction is applied to the value of the mean flow speed.
