A protective cover (2) grasps over the larger part of the screen wiper (1) from above and has a receiver (3) for the wiper with sidepieces (4) connected to this to carry the cover suction cups (5). The sides may be bent round downwards (6) at the ends so the cups protrude beyond this by an overlap (7) fitted out with grip straps (8). The cover may be a plastics injection moulding for preference and may have two cups each side with each side piece penetrating the cover. Details may include a narrow gap (16) between cups and the underside of the cover. The sides (4) may also be drilled out (12) for the cup legs (13), and the holes may produce a narrow part in the legs to hold these securely in the cover. The bent end parts of the cover may in turn be recessed so the cover reaches down almost to the screen glass (10).
