A building material which contains a panel module or a sash module which can exhibit a photo-catalytic function by utilizing greatly a surface area of a building, can easily utilize sunlight and has weatherability in terms of the photo-catalytic function. An outside panel (2) and an inside panel (3) are arranged in the spaced-apart relation and an air flow passage (5) is formed between the panels. At least one of the panels is UV-transmissible and a photo-catalytic function layer (6) is disposed inside the air flow passage (5).
