A process is disclosed for manufacturing a rolled insulating pipe, in particular for a high-voltage insulator, with at least one channel for subsequently introduced conductors, optical fibres or the like. According to the invention, first plies are wound on a winding mandrel up to a certain thickness, then a flexible shaped body which contains at least one empty pipe is slipped and fixed on the thus obtained surface so as to enclose it, and finally further plies are wound until the final diameter of the insulating pipe is reached.
