A co-ordinate inputting apparatus comprises a base 2 having a pedestal 6, and a upright columnar body 1 extending from the pedestal, sensors 3 to detect an operating force applied to the columnar body, and a control section (14, fig 13, not shown) for controlling a cursor on a display unit in response to signals from the sensors, and a protective film 9 covering the sensors. The pedestal may be fixed inside a keyboard device (fig 10, not shown).
