PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device capable of promptly activating a catalyst.SOLUTION: An engine control device: stores an engine water temperature and an external temperature in a storage section when an engine is stopped (Step S3); measures an engine stop period from when the engine is stopped until when the same is restarted with a timer (Steps S2 and S5); estimates an amount of condensate water accumulated in an exhaust passage during the engine stop period on the basis of the engine water temperature and the external temperature stored in the storage section and the engine stop period measured with the timer (Step S7); and controls the engine so that the same can be put in a predetermined operation state to allow the accumulated condensate water in the exhaust passage to be removed on the basis of the estimated amount of the condensate water (Step S9).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
