PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmissive electromagnetic wave shield material and its manufacturing method wherein visibility is excellent and the effect of electromagnetic wave shielding is high. SOLUTION: As what is provided with a metal layer 2 on one surface of a transparent base body 1, a polyester film of 100μm thickness wherein an iron foil of 35μm thickness is bonded is used. A positive solid photoresist is formed on the iron foil, and is patterned into a lattice of 10μm width and 100×100μm scale division by exposure/development with a photo-mask. Then, after the iron foil is etched in ferric oxide solution, the resist is peeled off. It is submerged for 2 minutes in an aqueous solution, at 80 deg.C, containing 0.1M of zinc dihyrogenphosphate, so that a metal compound 3, a black surface layer part of the metallic layer 2, is obtained as a transmissive electromagnetic wave shield material.
