HEAD SUSPENSION OF HARD DISK MOUNTED WITH ADHESIVE AND MOUNTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head gimbal assembly mountable with the minimum thickness on an actuator arm. SOLUTION: The head gimbal assembly 10 for a disk drive mechanism is mounted on the actuator arm 27 by using the adhesive. An etching pattern 29 is formed on a mounting plate of the head gimbal assembly to settle the surface area 21 for fitting. The actuator arm is caught by the fitting surface area 21, and when these two members are adequately positioned, the adhesive is introduced to various grooves forming the etching pattern from an opening 32 for access which is positioned outside the fitting surface area. By arranging the opening for access outside the fitting surface area, the adhesive is introduced after the last positioning between the head gimbal assembly and the actuator arm is completed.
