LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR DIESEL ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition for a diesel engine which can reduce particulate matter(PM) emission and is excellent in fuel conservation characteristic. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by compounding 0.5-10wt.% to the total composition of (C) an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer as a viscosity index improver having a number average mol.wt. of 1,000-300,000 to a base oil comprising (A) a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100 deg.C of 1.5-7mm<2> /s and (B) a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100 deg.C of 8-15mm<2> /s.
