<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base working fluid composition which is used for a wire cutter, allows abrasive grains to disperse with a good stability, adheres uniformly to fine wire, making it possible to cut a work well, and enables a mixture of abrasive grains, a swarf and a working fluid adhering to the work after cutting to be readily washed away with water by blending a specified polyglycol ether, organic and inorganic bentonites, CMC, etc., and sulfonic acid derivative(s). SOLUTION: The polyglycol ether (A) used comprises one represented by formula I or II (wherein R1 is H, a 1-6C alkyl, or phenyl; R2 is H or acetyl; and n is 1 to 4), e.g. ethylene glycol monomethyl ether. The bentonites (B) used comprise crystalline montmorillonite or its composite with an organic base. The CMC, etc., (C) used comprise at least one compound selected from CMC, MgO, methanol and ethanol. The sulfonic acid derivative(s) (D) used comprises sodiumβ-naphthalenesulfonate/formalin condensate, and petroleum or a synthetic sulfonic acid salt. The components A, B, C and D and water are blended respectively in amounts of 10-60wt.%, 0.1-5.0wt.%, 0.01-5.0wt.%, 0.1-2.0wt.% and 28-70wt.%.</p> |
