AUTOMATED CONVERSION METHOD OF POSTAL CODE NUMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print based on a number of seven figures even from AP (application program) adapting to a number of five figures without converting whole data at the transition to a postal code number of seven figures. SOLUTION: A postal code number automatic converting unit 1-11 refers to layout data 1-7 and postal code number dictionary 1-8/1-9. The layout data 1-7 are described based on a printing format in which printing is performed based on AP adapting to a number of five figures, and postal code numbers and addresses are drawn out of printing data. Postal code numbers of seven figures are retrieved from the postal code number dictionary 1-8/1-9 based on the postal code numbers and addresses drawn out. A buser registers a printing format in the layout data 1-7 to set it in the postal code number automatic converting unit 1-11, whereby printing can be performed based on postal code number of seven figures even from AP of five figures.
