摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for identifying glass of different quality by a method wherein rays of light, which are applied from one light source to a soda lime glass (ordinary glass) and other special glass so as to be passed therethrough, are divided into two portions, which portions are precisely measured and identified. SOLUTION: Rays of light applied from a light source 1 are passed through a cullet P and divided so as to be passed through two light passages by lenses 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d of an optical lens unit 2 and a portion of the rays of light on the side of a light axis is received by a first light receiving part 3a and a portion of rays of light on the peripheral side is received by a second light receiving part 3b, thereby to receive infrared region light of 2800nm±5% by means of a filter 6 of the part 3a, by referring to the attenuation rate of the received light due to degree of contamination, whereby the cullet P is identified as an ordinary glass and when light is not received, the cullet P is identified as a special. glass, so that a glass of different quality can be identified.
