PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a herbicidal composition useful for selectively controlling various weeds and broad-leaved weeds in rice by including specific ingredients therein. SOLUTION: This herbicidal composition comprises (1) propanil, (2) a compound selected from asulum, butamifos and methazole and (3) a carrier permissible in cultivating field crops. Barnyard grass, janglerice, signalgrass, sprangletop, etc., are cited as the weed species to be controlled with the composition. The content of the ingredient (1) in the composition is preferably about 16-3 pts.wt. based on about 1 pt.wt. ingredient (2) expressed in terms of the relative content of the ingredient (2). A herbicidally effective amount of the composition is preferably applied to sites of weeds or a growth medium for the weeds. |
