PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process an ink-jet printing medium so as to correctly move an individual modium sheet in a print area of an ink-jet printing mechanism, and print on the sheet. SOLUTION: The method includes steps of preparing a driving motor 88, a medium-supporting member 80 which regulates a distance Z between a medium and a print head in a print area 25 by a distance between the print head (54, 56) and the medium when supported by the medium-supporting member 80, and a distance regulator 100, coupling the motor 88 to the supporting member 80 in an operable state with the used of the distance regulator 100, and selectively adjusting by means of the distance regulator 100 a distanceΔZ between the medium and print head with the use of the motor 88.
