PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse a developing roller by easily and inexpensively removing toner stuck on the surface of the developing roller where roughening processing is applied to a metallic surface. SOLUTION: As for a developing device 1 using a metallic roller where the roughening processing is applied to the surface so as to make the surface have desired surface roughness as the developing roller 2; when the surface state of the developing roller 2 is deteriorated, the roughening processing is applied to the surface 2a of the developing roller. Then, when the roughening processing is applied to the surface of the developing roller again, sand blasting processing is applied by the particles of a particle size used so as to obtain the desired surface roughness after the sand blasting processing is applied by the particles of a smaller size than the particle size used so as to obtain the desired surface roughness. Thus, the stuck toner of a roller surface is removed and also the roughened surface of the desired surface roughness is regenerated, so that the developing roller is reused. |
