PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light resistance and weatherability by providing a recording layer which contains a reversible heat coloring composition on a support member, providing a protective layer thereon, and adding a light stabilizing agent in the protective layer. SOLUTION: In a reversible thermal recording medium, a recording layer 2 containing a reversible heat coloring composition is provided on a support member 1, and a protective layer 3 is provided on the recording layer 2. In this case, a light stabilizing agent is added in the protective layer 3 so as to improve light resistance of image and ground texture. Further, an organic or inorganic filler and a lubricant are added in the protective layer 3 so as to improve reliability and head matching property. Although various water-soluble high polymer and polymeric water-based emulsions can be used for forming the coat of the protective layer, for example, a polyvinyl alcohol and modified polyvinyl alcohol and the like can be named as the water-soluble high polymer. For the water-based emulsion high polymer, for example, polyvinyl acetate, polyurethane, styrene /butadiene copolymer can be named. |
