PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make fresh and lively sound playable as in natural musical instruments by changing a parameter in accordance with the random numbers generated at every transfer of an envelope waveform to the next section and generating envelope data based on the parameter changed until the next section finishes. SOLUTION: A pitch envelope generator 28 prepares pitch envelope data based on the rate of transfer and the level parameter brought by a data transfer controller from a tone data memory to be held in a rate register 120 and a level register 122. And every time the generated envelope is transferred to the next section, the parameter is changed in accordance with the random numbers generated by a random number generator 140, and concurrently envelope data is generated based on the parameter subjected to this change until the next section finishes. By this, the outline of the envelope greatly changed and accordingly a complicated and fresh sound can be played as in a natural musical instrument. |
