PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ferrite at a low cost by pouring a ferrite slurry in a vessel having a filter paper-loaded perforated plate at the lower part, dehydrating the slurry with a vacuum pump, cutting the dehydrated slurry into a prescribed shape, drying the cut product and subsequently calcining the dried product. SOLUTION: This method for producing a ferrite comprises mixing oxide powder raw materials so as to form a MnZn or NiZn ferrite composition, processing the mixture into a ferrite slurry having a particle diameter of <=0.5μm, pouring the slurry in a slurry-pouring vessel 1 on whose bottom surface a plate 2 having approximately 5mm diameter plural holes 2a is disposed and on which a filter paper sheet 3 is spread, dehydrating the poured slurry at a rate of approximately <=10l/min with a vacuum pump 7 through the draining pipe 6 of a dehydration tank 5 disposed so as to load the pouring vessel 1 thereon, cutting the produced bean curd-like ferrite into a prescribed shape, drying the product at approximately <=150 deg.C, heating the dried product up to approximately 1250 deg.C at a heating rate of 50-150 deg.C/hr in the atmosphere of N2 , calcining the ferrite at 1250 deg.C for approximately 5hr, and subsequently cooling the ferrite, thus producing the high density ferrite having a density of approximately 5.09g/cm<3> . |
