<p>The chainsaw (1) has a motor (3) with a blade (4) having a chain (5) that can rotate about an axis parallel to its plane. The motor, blade and chain be rotated about an axis at right angles to the plane of the blade and fixed with respect to a baseplate (2). The blade can be set at an angle within its own plane to suit the angle of the desired end cut face. When the end of a timber (15) is being jointed for a jack rafter, the end cut of the joint recess needs to be angled. The swivelling arrangement of the blade achieves the correct shape directly.</p> |
