Calcium, magnesium, lidocaine and benzathine salts of 2-oxindole-1-carboxamides of the formula (I): (see fig. I) (wherein X and Y are each H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; and R1 is an ester-forming group such as alkyl, etc.) are useful for the treatment of joint disease by intra-articular administration.
