PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a sodium-sulfur battery with superior charge and discharge cycle characteristics. SOLUTION: When this battery is constituted to arrange a sulfur and/or polysulfide sodium and an electronic conduction material in a positive pole chamber 9 between a battery jar, compatible with a positive pole power collector and a solid electrolytic tube 1 and to intervene a substance with its superior sulfur and polysulfide sodium resistance and its low electron conduction property, the electronic conduction material employs a carbon-base, short fiber, having values for its fiber length of 100μm or more and 5mm or shorter and for which the aspect ratio, calculated by fiber diameter/fiber length, is greater than 5 and smaller than 600.
