PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect gaseous organic group bromide generated by combustion before firing without any malfunction. SOLUTION: A sensor part 13 is irradiated with an infrared ray with wavelength 6-6.5μm from an infrared ray emitting element 12. The outside of the sensor part 13 is provided with a polarizing member 21 which generates polarization by absorbing gas, and a phroelectric member 18 which generates polarization by the infrared ray transmitted through this polarizing member 21. The polarities of the polarization of those both members 18 and 21 are made opposite, and the sum of the both polarized voltages is impressed to the gate of an FET 14. An infrared ray 25 is absorbed by gaseous organic group bromide, and the activated gas is adsorbed by the member 21 by the absorption.
