PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a cycloconverter of a small-sized thyristor having a low breakdown voltage and, at the same time, to increase the output of the converter, by constituting each variable control bridge in a state where two half-wave converters are superimposed upon another in two stages by making the cycloconverter, in such a manner as to make voltage doubler rectifier operations by connecting the neutral point on the single-phase AC output side to the neutral point of three-phase windings. SOLUTION: Cycloconverters are made to perform voltage doubler rectifier operations by connecting the connecting point C of an LC filter 3 for removing the harmonic components of half-wave currents generated from upper-stage converters BC1U and BC2U, with that of another LC filter 4 for removing the harmonic components of half-wave currents generated from lower-stage converters BC1L and BC2L, namely, by connecting a neutral point formed on the single-phase output side and the neutral point of three-phase main coils 1. Therefore, the converters EC1 and BC2 are constituted by respectively superposing the upper-stage converters BC1U and BC2U upon the lower-stage converters BC1L and BC2L. In this case, it is preferable to use a permanent- magnet generator having a permanent-magnet rotor as a three-phase generator.
|
