DEVELOPER, ITS PRODUCTION AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a developer having superior electrostatic chargeability and fixability (smearing resistance) by using a specified bonding resin and colorant particles dispersed in the resin. SOLUTION: This developer contains a bonding resin and colorant particles dispersed in the resin. The bonding resin has at least one mol.wt. peak measured by gel permeation chromatography in the region of 10<3> -5×10<4> and it is based on a low mol.wt. polymer contg. an electrostatic charge controlling agent added by 0.1-8.0wt.%, preferably 0.2-5.0wt.%. The low mol.wt. polymer is preferably a thermoplastic resin such as polystyrene or polyvinyl toluene. The colorant is not especially limited and is used by about 1-20 pts.wt., preferably 2-7 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the bonding resin so as to form a high density visible image.
