<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transmission efficiency by preventing the end of the packet (EOP) cell of a packet whose input is permitted from being aborted so as to reduce the transmission of invalid cells to a receiver side. SOLUTION: When a first cell of a packet reaches, a congestion discrimination section 3 is used to discriminate whether or not a network is in congestion. When a discrimination section 4 forcibly aborts all cells forming the same packet as the arrived cell when the network is discriminated to be in congestion, and reserves a space input of the EOP cell in a buffer 6, permits the input of all cells forming the same packet of the arrived cell when the network is discriminated not in congestion and forcibly aborts cells after the EOP cell when cell abort takes place on the way of the packet whose reception is permitted.</p> |
