PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to specify the coordinates of an indicated position corresponding to each coordinate indicator even when the coordinates are indicated by using coordinate indicators. SOLUTION: According to to an indication made with an input pen 3, the input effective area C of the input pen 3 is set on an input surface, and an area prescribed with X and Y coordinates which do not overlap with the X and Y coordinates included in the input effective area C is set as an input effective area D of an input pen 4. When coordinates are specified with those two pens 3 and 4 at the same time, the coordinate values (X1, X2, Y1, Y2) of X and Y indicated with those two pens 3 and 4 are inputted to find the coordinates of four points specified with those four coordinate values and when one point is included in the area C and area D, input coordinates by the input pen are obtained corresponding to the area which contains the point.
