PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a high-definition, high-image quality image by superimposing in good accuracy a plurality of light beams to expose a photoreceptor and to form an exposed image having high contrast on the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: Superimposition exposure is applied to a photoreceptor charged with a first and a second light beam having a predetermined light strength and modulated in accordance with an image signal for detection for detecting the displacement of a superimposition exposure position. In this case, the surface electric potential of the photoreceptor is measured to detect the displacement of the superimposition exposure for the photoreceptor of the first and the second light beam based on the measured result. Displacement is corrected based on the resulting displacement by controlling at least one of a first or a second laser driving circuit 25A, 25B, or its optical system under an image recording mode. |
